Leading his band for the second time at Cheltenham, Bryan Corbett's sweet funky jazz and trademark warm tone once again captivated the packed audience in the Town Hall Pillar Room. He also enjoyed a guest slot with Michael Parkinson's special edition of BBC Radio 2's Friday Night Is Music Night, broadcast live from the Festival to a nationwide audience of over a million.
Press reviews from Bryan's 2007 Cheltenham Jazz Festival concert
"The leader's trumpet is characterised by a wide, confident tone that bends fully open and wraps itself around a note or a phrase... Corbett is never afraid to let the music take him where it will - to let his whole body become the servant of the spirt of improvisation, to twist and turn on stage, to become one with the horn... The size of Corbett's audience shows why London-based booking agents should take notice."
The Independent
"a wholly engaging and unpretentiously enjoyable set from an unassuming but considerable talent."
Vortex Jazz Club blog
"There is something about Cheltenham that seems to inspire musicians and the quartet were hot today, with [Bryan] Corbett and [Levi] French in outstanding form."

What makes Bryan Corbett part of our Jerwood Jazz Generation
“Bryan is a brilliant young trumpeter whose appearance at Cheltenham in ‘03 gave him the opportunity to become much better known outside his home city of Birmingham. He has developed a strong reputation since then and returned in great style with his now regular quartet and some excellent new material.”
Tony Dudley-Evans
